Steaming Sunday at Crofton
On Sunday 5th May BIAG was pleased to be part of the Experience Archaeology event at Crofton Beam Engines, Marlborough. It was a Steaming Day so we enjoyed the site in full working glory and were able to listen to a number of interesting talks with an archaeological theme and watch the fun all of the children were having digging in the sand pits provided by the Wiltshire Museum. We had a number of interesting discussion on industrial archaeology and on memories of old industries and buildings in the area with visitors. Simon and Kathryn from Crofton were excellent hosts and provided an unexpected sausage sandwich for breakfast while we put up the stands which was much appreciated.
